Elisabeth Karafili
Elisabeth majored in Speech and Hearing Science at UIowa with a minor in Spanish. After working on the Genetics of Language Impairment and Twice-Exceptional study in the Michaelson Lab for 2 years, Elisabeth went on to get her masters in Speech-Language Pathology at Northern Illinois University. Outside of academics, she enjoys working out, hanging out with family and friends, and shopping.
While in the Michaelson Lab, she reported, "What I love most about this field is that although Speech Pathologists treat individuals that have communication and swallowing problems, they also provide an abundance of joy and happiness into the lives of their clients, which is what I hope to provide as a future clinician. Seeking to dive deeper into this area of study is what brought me to the Michaelson Lab".
Elisabeth is currently working as a Pediatric Speech-Language Pathologist.
