Elisabeth Karafili is a Senior here at the University of Iowa! She is majoring in Speech and Hearing Science with a minor in Spanish. Currently, she is in the process of applying to graduate school with the ambition of becoming a Speech-Language Pathologist. What she loves most about this field is that though Speech Pathologists treat individuals that have communication and swallowing problems, they also provide an abundance of joy and happiness into the lives of their clients, which is what she hopes to provide as a future clinician. Seeking to dive deeper into this area of study is what brought her to the Michaelson Lab. This will be her fourth semester in the lab working on the Genetics on Language Impairment and Twice-Exceptional study. Outside of academics, she enjoys working out, hanging out with family and friends, and shopping.
