Biography

Yongchao Huang graduated in May 2018 from the University of Iowa with a BS in Biomedical engineering, a focus track in bioinformatics, and minor in computer science.

In Fall 2018, he joined the lab as a masters student to continue research on facial morphology to discover biological pathways of autism disorder, aiming to use bio-imaging tools to understand mental disorders. Since he was young, he had a strong interested in artificial intelligence and desire to understand the mechanisms of the brain, which later guided him into the field of developing and utilizing the machine learning tools to understand and diagnose the mental disorder in close relationship with genetics. Learning through this field and applying his strength to healthcare industry is his future goal. In his spare time, he has tremendous enthusiasm in sports and music, especially in tennis and classical music.
